How do we use them?
Due to the purity of dōTERRA's essential oils you can take them in 3 ways and each one is used to have a different impact on your body:
- Aromatically: This is through putting water in an infuser and then adding a few drops to inhale as a vapour. You can also put a few drops on your hands, cup your hands and then inhale. This is very effective in impacting your emotions, in killing airborne viruses and microbes in your home, support your immune system as you are sleeping and helping your respiratory system
- Topically: this is placing drops on the skin. This is powerful and allows you to put the essential oil on the area where you need it the most. We always recommend that when you start using dōTERRA oils on your skin you combine it with a carrier oil or base oil (fractionated coconut oil is the best. Or vitamin E or argen oil which are light oils). A safe way to start is to test essential oils is on the bottom of your feet. This is to check you don’t get any sensitivity before using on other parts of your body. For children and babies putting the combination oils (fractionated coconut oil + essential oil) on the bottom of your children’s feet is a great way to apply the essential oils.
- Internally: this is unique to dōTERRA due to its essential oils’ purity. Take 1 to 2 drops in a glass of water or make them into your own capsules. This is effective for systemic health (the whole system), in particular gut health and to support your immune systems. Due to the potency of the oils less is more, especially when you start using the oils or you are already sick. So, 1 to 2 drops in water every 2 hours as and when it is required or the symptoms subside.
